David Dosier

Have you seen this man before? His photos are particularly popular with African scammers. If you have seen his photos on social networks or on dating sites, be sure that this is a fake account created by a dangerous Internet scammer with the goal of earning money!

Lt. Col. David Dosier from Sycamore retired from the United States Army on July 31, 2015, after 28 years of service. His military career began in 1987 when he joined the Army Reserve as a 13B Field Artilleryman. In 1992, he earned his commission as an aviation officer through the ROTC program at Eastern Illinois University.

 

After completing flight training at Fort Rucker, Alabama, Dosier served as an Aero Scout Platoon Leader at Fort Riley, Kansas. Over the years, he held assignments in South Korea, Germany, Kosovo, Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), Ottawa (Canada), Kandahar (Afghanistan), and Baghdad (Iraq). He also served as an instructor at the University of Oklahoma, Fort Rucker, and Northern Illinois University.

 

Dosier earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Eastern Illinois University and a Master’s degree in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma. His military decorations include the Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (with three oak leaf clusters), Army Commendation Medal (with four oak leaf clusters), Army Achievement Medal (with five oak leaf clusters), the Canadian Chief of Defence Staff Commendation, and badges for Parachutist, Air Assault, and Senior Aviator.

 

His final assignment was as Professor of Military Science at Northern Illinois University, where he led the Huskie Battalion for four years. Following his retirement, Dosier and his wife, Dawn (née Weaver), remained in Sycamore, Illinois, where he continues to work at Northern Illinois University. They have a son named Noah.
